Erectile Dysfunction
What to do when you suspect you have erectile dysfunction.
Who can help with Erectile Dysfunction?
The MSH Doctors, Sex Counsellors, Sex Therapists and Pelvic Function Physiotherapists all have extensive training in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
It is advisable to see a Medical Doctor first, to exclude any the medical reasons for erectile dysfunction and to prescribe medical treatment if the patient prefers that.
*Please contact your preferred healthcare provider directly for more information about the cost of consultations. MSH offers a platform service to Credible Sexual Health Providers you may choose to consult with.
Need assistance with erectile dysfunction?
If there are any symptoms in the pelvis, other than erectile dysfunction (such as pain in the lower back or genitals, constipation or urinary symptoms) we advise patients to consult a MSH Pelvic Function Physiotherapist with a special interest in Men’s Health.
The psychological impact of erectile dysfunction cannot be underestimated. It can be the consequence of anxiety or depression or it can result in anxiety or depression. It can wreak havoc with a person’s self esteem and destroy relationships. The MSH Team Sex Therapists are perfectly positioned to offer the support and therapy necessary to avoid or address these consequences.
Procedures: The licensed MSH Practices, offer the following procedures:
- Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (aka the P-Shot) has been investigated and shown to be an effective alternative treatment for erectile dysfunction.
- Intracavernous injections (injections into the shaft of the penis prior to sex). The technique can be demonstrated and the correct dosage determined in the procedure room of the licensed practice.
- Hormone injections and implants, if indicated.
Products: Vacurect, Prelox, Vibrators
