Catriona Boffard

Catriona Boffard is a clinical sexologist, psychotherapist and researcher and has been working in the field of sexology since 2013. She has been a member of MSH since 2012.


She was one of the first South Africans to be certified by the European Federation of Sexology – the highest attainable, internationally recognised qualification in Sexology.


Catriona runs a private practice online, consulting with clients globally.


She presents academic, corporate and private workshops around the world. She has published numerous academic articles and chapters, including in the prestigious Journal of Sexual Medicine, as well as the ESSM/ EFS academic textbook. She is an editor of the African Journal of Primary Health Care & Family Medicine. She is frequently invited to present keynote lectures on topics in sexual health to healthcare professionals and has a particular passion for educating others to improve access and resources in the field.


Catriona is often consulted by the media globally for radio, television or print content. She is the resident sexologist for Desir, South Africa’s leading sexual health and wellness brand. She also has her own podcast, Asking for a Friend, that covers topics relating to sexual and mental health, relationships and intimacy that we need to be having more conversations about.
