Contraception
What is the best contraception to prevent pregnancy?
Who can help with contraception?
- A MSH Doctor can discuss the latest contraceptive options and help patients to decide on the right choice for them and their libido.
- MSH Psychologists/Counsellors and MSH Pelvic Function Physiotherapists are also well informed about the latest and best contraceptive options.
*Please contact your preferred healthcare provider directly for more information about the cost of consultations and various contraceptive options.. My Sexual Health offers a platform service to Credible Sexual Health Providers you may choose to consult.
Need assistance with contraception?
A MSH Doctor can discuss the latest contraceptive options available. They can prescribe hormonal combined oral contraceptives, discuss the safety of various natural methods and insert intrauterine devices such as the Mirena, Kyleena, Copper T as well as the Implanon Implant.
MSH Licensed Practices also offer these procedures under conscious sedation in the rooms.
The MSH Team is very well positioned to offer contraceptive options to trans and gender diverse clients and their partners.
MSH Psychologists/Counsellors have received advanced training in contraceptive options. Although they can’t prescribe it, they can advise on the best options for a patient’s particular situation and in the best interest of their sexual health.
MSH Pelvic Function Physiotherapists are also well informed about the latest and best contraceptive options and play a key role in treating pain disorders such as provoked vestibulodynia, that arise in some women who take the combined hormonal contraceptive pills (the pill).
The following MSH Team Members offer surgical solutions for contraception:
- Mpume Zenda: Sterilisation
*only gynaecologists offer sterilisation and only urologists offer vasectomies.
