Dr Elna Rudolph

Dr Elna Rudolph is a South African medical doctor and sexologist with more than fifteen years of dedicated experience in sexual medicine. She is the Clinical Head of My Sexual Health (MSH) and served as President of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) from 2021 to 2025, the youngest person ever to hold the position, the first from Africa, and only the second woman in the organisation's history.
Dr Rudolph's work sits at the intersection of clinical care, education, and global advocacy. Her focus is on translating scientific evidence into practical support, for the patients who need it, and for the healthcare providers who treat them.
Her areas of particular clinical interest include female sexual dysfunction, genito-pelvic pain disorders, menopause-related sexual health, and multidisciplinary approaches to sexual wellbeing.

Her Story
Dr Rudolph's path into sexual medicine was shaped by a clear gap: patients presenting with devastating, often long-untreated sexual health conditions, and very few South African healthcare professionals with the training to help them.
That recognition drove her to build what MSH is today:
- A multidisciplinary network of credible sexual health providers across South Africa and beyond
- Sexology Courses: a global learning platform offering evidence-based, CPD-accredited education in sexual health
- The MSH Online Shop: making specialist sexual health products accessible in South Africa
- Uit die Slaapkamer: a television series bringing frank, shame-free sexual health education to South African audiences
She also founded the African Institute for Sexual and Gender Health and Sexual Health Africa, contributing to building sexual health capacity and clinical education across the region.
