I qualified as a Registered Counsellor and am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), after finishing my psychology (BPsych) degree at Stellenbosch University in 2003.
With more than 20 years of experience in counselling, focussing on a variety of problems, including addiction, trauma, divorce, infidelity, stress, depression, anxiety, infertility, grief and loss; I believe that my biggest passion, purpose and calling in life is to help individuals, couples and families achieve victory in their relationships. At my private practice in Brackenfell, I assist adults and teenagers to find solutions, by providing them with practical skills and tools, to manage their own challenges and to leave my office feeling empowered and encouraged to take on the next challenge.
I am also a certified Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) Instructor - helping parents improve their relationships with their children.
My interest in Sexual Health started in 2020, after attending a short course on providing sexual health counselling, and after seeing the need from couples to talk about their sexual problems in their relationships, with someone they can trust. I joined My Sexual Health in 2023 and also joined SASHA (South African Sexual Health Association), where I am constantly challenged to learn more and expand my knowledge, in order to assist my clients best. I am passionate about helping couples and teenagers learn more about sex and sexual health, in order to make better, healthier decisions in their relationships, and ultimately achieve victory in their relationships.
