Marteleze is a Counselling Psychologist in Independent Practice and registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She is also a Clinical Hypnotist registered with the National Guild Of Hypnotists. She is a proudly gender affirming health care provider and sees clients from various sexual identities and preferences. She is in full time private practice at 633 Windsor Road, Garsfontein. Her rooms are in the Satori Health Centre in Garsfontein, Pretoria and she consults online.
When Marteleze sees a client for sex therapy or sexual dysfunction or a client questioning their sexuality or sexual expression, she focuses on gaining an understanding of how a client perceives sex.
This involves looking at beliefs, societal norms, the influence of the media, relationships, the function of sex or intimacy or sensuality for the individual, and ideas about pleasure. Marteleze considers all of of these factors and how it impacts on the client’s experience of himself/herself/themselves when expressing their sexual needs and whether it is in line with their needs or causing distress or dysfunction.
