Chant Malan (she/they) is a clinical sexologist, counselling psychologist, researcher, and executive member of the Southern African Sexual Health Association (SASHA). They have a special interest in gender, sexual, and relationship diversity (GSRD), and sexual health. Her work is focused on sex positive interventions that embrace and affirm a diverse spectrum of experiences, identities and practices.


Their research interests include the use of critical methodologies to explore embodiment, sexualities, and identities. Chant has a Masters in Counselling Psychology, a Masters in Political and International Studies, an Honours in Psychology, a joint Honours in Politics and Philosophy and is currently completing a Diploma in Clinical Sexology through the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology in the UK. She has presented her most recent research on sexuality education in southern Africa at various international conferences.


They are also passionate about educating other professionals and healthcare workers on sexualities, identities, bodies and pleasure. Chant lives in Johannesburg with their three fur-children, an ever-growing pile of books and a herb garden in constant need of revival.
