My Sexual Health Team Member:
Pelvic Function Physiotherapist
Helen is a physiotherapist with a passionate interest in restoring pelvic function and healthy sexual relationships. She has been in private practice since 1998 and currently runs Helen Henning Physiotherapy in Durbanville. She serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Durbanville Pelvic Floor Unit and has joined the My Sexual Health team.
She treats women with sexual pain/dysfunction, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and post-natal complaints like episiotomy scar pain or rectus diastasis. She initially completed postgraduate training in orthopaedics and combines her training and years of experience as a neuromuscular-skeletal therapist to treat pelvic disorders.
She enjoys speaking to women to create awareness about pelvic floor function and is particularly passionate about empowering patients (and anyone who will listen) through knowledge and education. She loves seeing patients grow into learning how they can be part of their own solution.
