Helen is a physiotherapist with a passionate interest in treating and coaching women with sexual pain to be part of their own solution to restore healthy intimacy.

She serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Durbanville Pelvic Floor Unit and has joined the My Sexual Health team.

She has been in private practice since 1998 and currently runs Helen Henning Physiotherapy in Durbanville.

She completed her pre-graduate training at the University of Stellenbosch and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Orthopaedics. Her interest in pelvic floor function and especially sexual pain was sparked after the birth of her children. She combines further training in pelvic health with the skills and years of experience as a neuromusculo- skeletal therapist to treat pelvic disorders.

She treats women with sexual pain/dysfunction, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, incontinence and post-natal complaints like episiotomy scar pain or rectus diastasis.
She enjoys speaking to women to create awareness about pelvic floor function and is particularly passionate about empowering patients through knowledge and education.

She loves seeing women learn how to move from pain, shame, fear and anxiety toward unlocking their pleasure.
