Tarryn is a physiotherapist who has been working in the field of women’s health, pelvic floor dysfunction and sexual pain syndromes since 2012. She has a passion for treating women who struggle with pelvic health issues and values her role in helping her patients to find hope, regain strength and function, improve quality of life and restore intimacy within relationships.
Tarryn initially completed her postgraduate studies in orthopaedics but discovered her passion for women’s health when she fell pregnant with her first child. Her orthopaedic knowledge and skills complement her treatment of pelvic health issues and she holds the holistic management of a patient as a key priority. As a women’s health physiotherapist Tarryn treats a wide variety of conditions such as prolapses, incontinence (leakage of urine, wind or faeces), painful sex, constipation, pelvic pain, pregnancy related issues and postnatal rehabilitation. She is also qualified to assist with pediatric bladder and bowel dysfunctions such as constipation and bedwetting. Whilst female pelvic health is her main area of interest Tarryn still treats a variety of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
Tarryn enjoys sharing her knowledge to empower women and to help open up the dialogue for many “taboo” topics when it comes to pelvic and sexual health and has had the privilege of writing articles, speaking at various functions and women’s groups and on social media platforms. She has been a co-lecturer for the Pelvic and Women’s Health Physiotherapy group on Sexual pain syndromes and is a presenter on the Belly babies online antenatal course which is endorsed by Momentum and Discovery Health.
